Greetings from Hollyhock Cottage! I'm looking forward to getting this website open, hopefully soon. In the meantime, you can check out my Etsy shop, HollyhockCottageIowa. Decades ago, I started my actual candle-making quest. I began as a hobbyist, unlike many who start this craft in search of better-burning or healthier alternatives. When I was in elementary school, I began doing my first experiments with homemade candles. They required some inventive blending, including the use of milk cartons as molds, crayons, and canning wax. I've grown really passionate about the craft over the years, and my candles have definitely changed! In 2003, I formally registered Hollyhock Cottage, the name that spoke to me. I've enthusiastically participated in numerous craft events over the years, and I'm now excited to open this website in order to share my selection of fragrant soy wax blend candles with amazing customers like you.

There’s a bit of chatter out there suggesting that "soy wax blend" labels might often indicate the presence of paraffin. Let me clear the air: the candles we craft at Hollyhock Cottage are made with a thoughtful combination of soy wax, beeswax, and coconut wax—absolutely no paraffin involved.
