ABOUT

Hello from Hollyhock Cottage!  A couple of decades ago, I started my actual candle-making quest. I began as a hobbyist, just for the fun of it, unlike many who start this craft in search of better-burning or healthier alternatives. When I was in elementary school, I began doing my first experiments with homemade candles. They required some inventive blending, including the use of milk cartons as molds, crayons, and canning wax. I've grown really passionate about the craft over the years, and my candles have definitely changed!  In 2000, I set up at my first craft show as Hollyhock Cottage, and I've enthusiastically participated in numerous craft events over the years.  Now, I'm excited to reopen the website soon in order to share my latest selection of fragrant soy wax blend candles with amazing customers like you, and if you purchase one (or more), a sincere thank you.  I hope you enjoy your purchase as much as I enjoyed making it for you.

There’s a bit of chatter out there suggesting that "soy wax blend" labels might often indicate the presence of paraffin, which may be true in some cases. But the candles crafted at Hollyhock Cottage are made with a thoughtful combination of coconut and soy wax. no paraffin in case that matters to you.  Some of the candles still have beeswax added to the coco/soy blend; however, I'm in the process of transitioning over to all coco/soy with no beeswax.

Happy hugs from me, Bev
